Summer Update:
Folks, I know that the temperatures are ranging in the 90's to near 100 degrees and it's mid-July but here's an update on the 4 million dollar capital improvements underway.
1. A new 1600 foot trail is being constructed and will be entered at the top of Stalker on skiers right. It will intersect back into Stalker near the bottom. There will be a cut through to the top of U-Me Double Chair Lift so that we can respond to 10-50's on Velvet, Northern Lights and Almost Home. The trail will have 16 snow guns and be lighted. Homes will be built in the future to allow for ski in-ski out to the mountain.
2. The Bob Small Traverse will now be officially recognized by Whitetail management. It will appear on all of the new trail maps and be included in snow reports for trails that are either open or closed for the day.
3. New upgrades to the deck near Market Place is under construction. The old wood decking is being replaced with concrete that will be coil heated. There will be a new grill that is planned to be in service most days and will honor employee discounts.
4. Mark C and Doug R will be at Whitetail about once a week over the next couple of months getting things ready, keeping an eye on the the projects, and keeping everybody updated. We will be back on a more regualar basis in October.
